Maya Lila is in the process of becoming a certified Crystal Energy Guide with Kyle Gray. She began working with crystals at age 4, when she discovered a strand of hematite beads in her mother’s jewelry box and immediately felt the calm, grounding energy they transmitted.

Maya Lila began her journey with crystals at age 4, when she lifted a heavy strand of cold, glossy hematite beads out of her mother’s jewelry box. She could immediately feel their calming energy, how they grounded her body, though she didn’t have words for it at the time.
About 15 years later, she began working with crystals in designing jewelry herself. She was the head of the jewelry department at the Santa Monica Anthropologie store, and drew inspiration from the many vibrant and spiritual crystal shops in Santa Monica and Venice Beach.
She began to dive deep into yoga and meditation, volunteering and studying at the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center and the Self Realization Center, and receiving her Yoga Certification from Bhakti Yoga Shala Santa Monica.
On January 5th, 2010, a friend asked her if she knew her Human Design. This began a 14 year journey of learning how to live as a Splenic Projector (1/3, RAX Vessel of Love with channels of Judgment, Abstraction and Perfected Form).
For years she was nomadic and traveled the world, living in Buenos Aires, Patagonia, Italy, Maui, San Francisco, Mt. Shasta, and eventually settled in sunny and lush Southern Oregon.
Through it all, she made custom jewelry, especially malas. In 2020 she began doing Human Design readings, not putting the two together until she was invited to make Human Design malas in the fall of 2023.
This project is a labor of love, joy, and beauty, a lifetime in the making.
